The benefits of yoga on body, mind and soul

The word yoga is derived from Sanskrit “Yujir Yogey” which means to put together or unite. In this the mind is used to diagnose the problem and to guide the body towards healing. Yoga eventually becomes a way of life when done regularly and with practice using the breathing methods to therapeutically heal the body. Once it is done correctly, yoga enhances the levels of endurance, vitality, energy, strength and flexibility.
Yoga has a very positive effect on ailments such as hypertension, diabetes, migraine and thyroid mal functions. By increasing the metabolism yoga helps with weight loss and also firms the muscles and helps reduce the fat in the body. The postures are not so much about how far you can bend and twist your body but more about involving your mind in the actions of your body and uniting the two for the well being of your body. Breathing is a very important part of yoga and this has to be done correctly for proper effects.
