The most effective investment is in real estate

Posted in Business, Real Estate on February 25th, 2008

To get the best returns in investments, the best bet in today’s world is real estate. The investment in real estate could stagnate for a while but in most cases and definitely in the long run it escalates and gives you rich dividends for what you have invested in it. This also generates the most income in the shortest period of time, making it worth your while to put your spare money into it instead of just keeping it in the bank or in fixed deposits.

Any kind of immovable property would be termed as real estate. This could be landed properties or houses in the form of villas and apartments. All prices are on the rise and if sold at a later date you can make a pretty good profit on the amount you have paid for the property. Properties also generate income from the rent if you let it out and if you retain it and live in it you cave on paying rent elsewhere.

This apart if at any given time you suddenly need money for a business venture or any such expense it is very easy to raise a loan on your property which you can put down as collateral security. So investing in real estate is ready money which can be made available to you at any time.

A trek in the mountains

Posted in Adventure, Health Care on February 21st, 2008

There can be nothing more beautiful than a trek in the mountains after a few showers of rain. The leaves on the trees are fresh and green and the sky is clear. There is more ozone in the air and this gives a zing to your step as you shuffle on the leaves that have been brought down with the rain as you tread on them. Nature’s beauty surrounds you and you feel at peach with yourself and with the world. The wild life in the mountains is happy after the showers and the birds are chirping and flitting around searching for the occasional grub or earth worm that they come by in the wet soil.

Even from a distance the mountain appears more refreshed with the trees having been washed down with the rains and the dust and grime cleaned from the surface of the trees. This is what draws most trekkers out on such a day, not just to be exhilarated with the exercise but to enjoy the beauty of the weather and the surroundings to the fullest. Breathing in this fresh air will invigorate most and give them the energy and the inclination to get back to the hum drum of the town life and the office routine.

A music concert in town

Posted in Entertainment, Music Reviews on February 18th, 2008

Music lovers wait for the kind of music that they are fond of and for their favorite musicians to come into town. This does not happen often and once there is a press release and announcement that a certain group is going to be in town there is a beeline to get the best seats at the auditorium or the open air concert. Tickets are sold out as fast as the announcement gets around town and there is a frantic search for a source to get into the concert area.

Sponsors of the show have their hands full trying to deal with ardent fans, who want passes and are literally sitting at their door steps. This is not an easy time for the sponsors or the fans. For those who make it to the concert it is a real big achievement. People get there hours in advance, so that their seats, which are often not numbered, are as close to the stage as possible. The concert scheduled time is already overdue and the crowd is restless to see their favorite musicians on stage. At last there is an announcement that the show is about to start and there is a round of applause. The show is about to begin at last and the lucky ones are in their seats waiting with baited breath for the music to begin.

Holiday makers get information from city reviews

Posted in Adventure, Travel on February 14th, 2008

Vacation time is a time when everyone is frantically planning their holidays and wondering where to go. There are many things that need to be ascertained before a decision is made on the choice of destination. The weather condition during that part of the year when a holiday is planned is something that has to be taken into serious consideration. No one wants to go to a place where there is incessant rain or be snowed in. What holiday makers look for is a pleasant weather even if it is sunny, as long as they are not home bound because of it and have to spend their time indoors.

City reviews come in very handy here and give the holiday maker a lot of information and help them to decide where they should go. Another important aspect is the cost factor. Cities have their expensive side and the more affordable ones too. This is where the food and accommodation would be more economical and especially for those who have to remain within certain limited budget, finding out more about the cities cost factor would definitely help. Where to go for site seeing, shopping or to have a night out and some fun time will all be easier with a city review.

Do you get to see the movie with a bad review?

Posted in Bollywood, Entertainment, Movie Reviews on February 11th, 2008

Movies are reviewed by critics and other reviewers who give their opinion on the movie and what they feel about it. These critics may have a very different idea about what kind of a movie you and your friends may enjoy watching and their review will be totally biased. Some people enjoy a funny hilarious film whereas the reviewer may be the type who prefers a serious movie with great technicalities and filming. This does not necessarily make a movie something to sit and enjoy for three hours. As a lay person what does the audience know about film shooting and effects, it is the enjoyment of the theme silly or romantic that appeals to the masses.

Some may like a thriller with all the cloak and dagger stuff and find it much more gripping than a science fiction which won many awards because of its technical effects and costumes. So to each his own, and the critic or reviewer may not always be right. Go and see the movie even if it has a bad write up and just a single star if the theme appeals to you. Many a time an enjoyable film is bi-passed because of a bad write up in the news papers or the internet. So do not miss a good movie that has a bad review.
